From the largest Scandinavian festival in the nation to the smallest city to support a full symphony orchestra, the friendly city of Minot is home to a lively art community and a thriving culture. Here’s just a taste of what our Magic City has to offer:
  • North Dakota State Fair: The North Dakota State Fair was named the best state fair in the entire country in 2015 (SmartAsset)! This annual event was also named the Event of the Year at the North Dakota Travel Industry Conference in 2016. Attend the state’s biggest event in Minot and enjoy the entertainment for all ages, including exhibits, the carnival, and much more.
  • The Norsk Høstfest: The largest Scandinavian festival in North America welcomes tens of thousands of people from all around the world every fall to celebrate Nordic culture. In 2016, the Norsk Høstfest was awarded the International Tourism Award at the North Dakota Travel Industry Conference.This festival features world-class entertainment, authentic Scandinavian cuisine, Scandinavian culture on display, handcrafted Norsk merchandise, plus a fine dining establishment lead by guest chefs.
  • Arts in the Parks Summer Concert Series: From mid-June through early August, Arts in the Parks offers numerous performances and visual art presentations for all ages and interests! Performances include dance, theater, opera, gospel quartets and jazz. Visual art presentations include rosemaling, sculpting, quilting, printmaking, watercolor and decorative painting, jewelry, and even cake decorating. This program is a summer favorite for the residents of Minot.
  • Brass Band of Minot: Minot’s Brass Band is made up of brass and percussion players, bringing music to the ears of concert goers, one note at a time! Brass Band of Minot is the only brass band in ND, SD, WY, ID, and MT to perform in the British-band style. Call 701-839-3407 for more information.
  • Heritage Singers: With 30 years of choral excellence, the Heritage Singers foster and promote male choral singing within the Minot area and surrounding communities.
  • Minot Chamber Chorale: Founded to fill an unmet need in the community, the Minot Chamber Chorale uses a mixed chorus ensemble to present quality choral literature.
  • Minot Symphony Orchestra: The Minot Symphony Orchestra is a university and community orchestra that offers rich and dynamic performances! Order your season tickets today for a guaranteed seat.
  • Mouse River Players:This all-volunteer community theater organization is dedicated to providing live, quality theatre experiences, at an affordable cost to the community of Minot and surrounding areas. The Mouse River Players is Minot’s oldest community theatre and encourages numerous youth programs, workshops, and outreach to all ages in effort to nuture an appreciation of the arts.
  • MSU Summer Theatre: Enjoy a family outing at the beautiful outdoor theater located at the Minot State University Amphitheater and watch Minot’s finest talent.
  • Nodakords: This men’s barbershop group has been spreading joy and fun since 1967! The Nodakords perform a variety of music types, for more information call 701-839-4595.
  • Voices of Note: As the only choir in the Minot area made up of solely female voices, the Voices of Note are a group you won’t want to miss! Call 701-838-8554 for more information.
  • Magi Drumline: The Magi Drumline is made up of students from 6th to 12th grade all scattered in the Minot region, from the MAFC to Surrey. This group competes the Twin Cities because there are no drumlines in North Dakota on their level!
