There are outdoor recreation for every season of the year, including hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, birding, golfing...The list goes on! Here’s a few suggestions to get you started:
  • Roosevelt Park Zoo: Houses the largest collection of exotic animals between Minneapolis and Seattle with 60 exhibits, 80 species, & 200 animals.
  • Take part in the year-round organized recreation activities held in outdoor (Optimist Soccer Complex, Jack Hoeven Baseball Complex, etc.) and indoor facilities (YMCA, MSU Dome, MAYSA Arena).

  • Pools & Waterparks: Looking to cool down this summer? Check out the splash pads at Oak Park and Radio City Park or enjoy swimming pool and water slide at Roosevelt Park. It doesn’t have to be summer for you and the family to enjoy the water! Take part in year-round fun at the Splashdown Dakota Super Slide, Minot YMCA, and other local hotels in the area.
  • Looking for some tee-time? There are 7 different courses to fit your golfing preferences from Minot’s newest and finest course, the Minot Country Club, to miniature golf at Lucy’s Amusement Park. Click here to check out all the different courses.
  • Competitive sports programs for youth, high school, college, and semipro are all available in our Magic City. Head to the MAYSA Arena and check out a Minot Minotauros game- a local favorite. The Tauros are a Tier II junior hockey team in the North American Hockey League, consisting of players across the country, aged 16-20.
  • Birding: North Dakota is a top destination for millions of birds with unspoiled scenery and an active migration season! If you’re interested in birding, click here to learn the nearby wildlife refuges.
