Magic 60 Returns May 25th!

Minot, N.D. — In an effort to engage community members in improving Minot, the Minot Young Professionals and United Magic60.pngCommunity Bank have partnered to bring back Magic 60, a microgrant program, as a vehicle for residents to make an impact on our community.

The premise of Magic 60 is that community members are asked to think of projects that add to the quality of life in Minot and present them to a judging panel.  The only caveat: All presentations must be made in sixty seconds or less.

Community members are encouraged to submit project ideas that run the gamete, from community art and music projects to events and charity programs.  A panel of community members will judge each project throughout the event and make funding decisions before the event concludes.  All potential projects must be to improve the Minot community, and private business ideas will not be considered.

$7,500 has been raised for the Magic 60 grant pool to be distributed to great ideas during the event, with $2,500 from United Community Bank and $5,000 from Minot Young Professionals.

“We are so grateful for the support of United Community Bank and the ability to provide dollars to help better our community,” remarked Megan Laudenschlager, President of Minot Young Professionals.  “With Magic 60, we are always so impressed with the caliber of project ideas and the impact the event has on the community.  We look forward to making another impact on Minot in May.”

Magic 60 will be held on Thursday, May 25th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the auditorium at Central Campus.  Individuals are encouraged to submit their project ideas by May 19th by emailing minotndyp@gmail.com with a brief description of their project (150-word maximum), including a budget, and their contact information.  For more information, interested individuals are asked to contact Minot Young Professionals at 701-303-0840.
