Manufacturing comes to Minot

Missouri-based pipe manufacturer United Poly Systems will be establishing operations in the Port of North Dakota expansionmanufacturingups13.jpg in Minot, with construction anticipated this fall. A Minot location will help the company enter two growth markets: the petroleum industry and municipal growth.

The expected $2.5 million expansion includes a 50,000 square foot facility on rail-served property. In the petroleum industry pipes are largely used for gathering oil and gas, and in North Dakota about 30 percent of natural gas is flared and could be captured and used with proper systems. Municipal applications range from telecommunications to power, utility and electrical.
